Shine Gifts & Fashion is a locally owned shop at Darwin Waterfront on Kitchener Drive, offering a broad selection of clothing, souvenirs and practical items for Darwin visitors. The store is open daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, with online shopping also available. Its range is particularly suited to the Top End climate, with tropical garments, hats, beach accessories and gifts that are easy to pack or take home.

The clothing collection is a major focus, with more than 2,000 garments in fabrics including bamboo, linen, Indian cotton, Indonesian rayon and blends. The owners design and source pieces in sizes from XXS to 5XL, choosing materials for their lightness, comfort and easy care. Many garments can be washed, dried on a hanger and worn without ironing, making them useful for travellers. The shop also carries men’s and unisex toyo and straw hats, women’s fashion hats, Darwin caps and children’s hats, along with sarongs, sunglasses, beach towels and beach toys.

For visitors looking for a distinctly local memento, Shine stocks Darwin- and NT-labelled souvenirs such as shot glasses, coasters, drink bottles, stubby coolers, fridge magnets and crocodile products. Other displays include colourful wall art, home décor, opal and pearl jewellery, and children’s bracelets made in the shop. There are locally produced children’s stories and Darwin T-shirts for younger visitors, as well as postcards featuring photographed local tourist destinations. The range also includes small gift ideas such as Darwin croc mints.

The business began in Cullen Bay in 2008 and opened at Darwin Waterfront in 2011. After expanding the Waterfront shop in 2020, the owners chose to operate solely from that location from the beginning of 2024. The larger store gives solo shoppers, families and visitors browsing together plenty of different categories to explore, whether they need a forgotten beach essential, a wearable souvenir or a gift to take home. Its location at Darwin Waterfront makes it a practical stop while exploring the precinct, with products aimed at travellers, children, grandparents and anyone wanting an NT-themed keepsake.
