Why it's worth checking out

The Landmark @ Gateway is a large, multi-level entertainment venue at Gateway Shopping Centre in Palmerston, bringing dining, drinks, sport and gaming together under one roof. Its design takes cues from the Top End, using stone, wood and greenery to reflect the landscapes of Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. With separate access from Roystonea Avenue and more than 1,400 free secure parking spaces, it is set up for both local visits and larger gatherings.

The venue includes a sports bar, family-friendly restaurant, expansive beer garden and function room, as well as TAB facilities and a spacious gaming lounge with CCTV security and ID scanning. Sport is a major focus, with the Territory’s largest permanent outdoor LED screen used for live major sporting events. The beer offering is another drawcard: the site says there are more than 100 taps, pouring a selection of beers, ales and premixes. A large function room can cater for fully catered private events of up to 250 people.

Dining ranges from family bistro meals to alfresco dinners. The contemporary Australian menu is developed by Head Chef Debbie Farrell and the sous-chef, while the family dining area continues the venue’s natural-environment theme. Kids meals are available, making the restaurant a practical option for families as well as groups looking for a broad entertainment venue. Lunch is served daily, with dinner and snacks offered across the week; bookings can be made by phone.

The Landmark is suited to different types of visits, depending on which part of the venue you use. Families can focus on the restaurant, sports fans have the big screen and sports bar, and groups can make use of the beer garden or private-function facilities. The venue is open until 3am seven days a week, giving it a late-night role in Palmerston as well. It is operated by an established Territory hospitality group headed by Justin Coleman and offers several distinct precincts across its three levels, rather than a single bar or dining room.

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 3.9 from 697 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
